Product Care
One of the great benefits of solid wood furniture handcrafted by The Joinery is that it is crafted to be enjoyed for generations to comes. We use a finish on all our furniture that is a special blend of oils and wax to ensure not only that your pieces is easy to maintain but also if accidents happen, it is east to repair.
First Few Months of Ownership
Over the first few months, as the oil finish on your Joinery piece cures and the wood matures, the patina of your Joinery piece may change and get a bit richer in tone due to the natural characteristics of the wood. Depending on the wood species of your piece, this may not be very noticeable but in woods, such as Cherry, the deep patina will become noticeable just within the first few months. We recommend periodically moving items sitting on the wood surface so the patina develops evenly for the first couple of months.
Furniture Maintenance
To ensure the beautiful luster of your furniture is maintained we recommend applying Feed-N-Wax to your pieces every 6-12 months. This ensures that the original oil we applies does not dry out and it keeps your Joinery piece protected. You can purchase additional finish supplies of Feed-N-Wax, repair kits, and Joinery Furniture Oil online or in our Portland stores.
Whether it is a scratch, dent or water mark, our solid wood furniture is designed and handcrafted to be easily restored to its original luster as well. If something happens don't worry, have a few different resources available to help restore your pieces.
