The foundation of each piece of The Joinery’s furniture is the wood it’s made from. We select our materials with intention, seeking stand-out examples in each variety of the sustainably-sourced American hardwoods we use.
We are currently inspired by the light and textural qualities of Oregon White Oak. Complementing serene, natural, and modern interiors, Oregon White Oak lends unique character to our sophisticated designs.
The Joinery is proud to source our White Oak from a special forest in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Zena Forest Products. With innovative forest management practices, these trees are allowed to grow wild within a diverse ecosystem that encourages distinguished variation and beautiful characteristics.
Whitman Dining Vignette in Oregon Oak
In that spirit, our newest showroom addition is our most popular dining style executed in Oregon Oak. Created in 2018, the Whitman dining room collection offers quiet, sculptural details that nod to midcentury design. Rounded corners, coved transitions, clean lines, and mortise and tenon joinery come together as a signature example of our woodworking skills.
Featured in our showroom is a set of Whitman Side Chairs, Whitman Arm Chairs, and our Whitman Extension Dining Table with Self-Store Leaves.
Perfect for record storage, an entry piece, or sleek sideboard, we handcrafted the Maud Credenza in Oregon Oak - also on display at our downtown showroom.
Last but not least, this one-of-a-kind set of Whitman Nightstands is an exquisite example of the light and dark strata we sometimes find in wild oak. The handsome “horizon” flows from one nightstand to the next.
