The design intent behind the Hayden Dining Table was to create a simplified trestle table with an overall clean and light form. Unlike normal kitchen duty, in table construction we kept things clean by removing the aprons. We focusd on subtle details including exposed splines at the top and bottom of the legs, and a slight angle to the bottoms of the feet that keeps the table light and elevated.
When designing the Hayden Dining Chair, we knew we wanted to create a clean and simple chair that would complement the Hayden Dining Table, but be versatile enough to work with other table offerings as well. The result is our first ladder back style in our chair lineup. To help what is often a traditional style of chair to work with our clean trestle table we modified several aspects of the Hayden through multiple prototype iterations – we slimmed the rungs down and carefully spaced them to optimize comfort. Aprons were kept clean and square and the legs were slimmed down to keep the piece as light as possible, all while maintaining durability to stand up to our lifetime warranty.
While designed for the Hayden Dining Table, the Hayden Dining Chair pairs nicely with many other dining table options including the Shaker, Live Edge, Celilo, Studio, Jost, Contemporary Pedestal and Whitman.
