About the artist: Jennifer Foran is an artist living in Portland, Oregon. Her art reflects her love of nature, and she draws her inspiration from the nature that surrounds her. A large body of her work is inspired by views of Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, which she visits regularly for new ideas. She credits her son, Liam, and daughter, Lydia, for her Change of Seasons Series. The time spent with her son and daughter has made her slow down, play more, go for walks and be outside more often. Jennifer worked full time as an Elementary Art Specialist in Ridgefield, Washington where she established an art program in 2005. During this time, Jennifer provided art education to over 1,000 students in grades K-6. This experience gave her the opportunity to be inspired by young artists who intuitively expressed their creativity without hesitation or fear of mistakes.
When people view her pieces, she wants them to discover the cycles within nature; the soft-spoken reminder that everything is connected; a balance of give and take.
Featuring Pacific Northwest artists
The Joinery is proud to sell the works of local fine artists at both of our showrooms. Every two months we feature new work by a Pacific Northwest artist. With each new show there is something beautiful and fresh to see.
We host an opening reception for the artist at our Downtown Portland location at the beginning of each show that is free and open to all. Join us for an evening of wine and appetizers, meet the artist, and receive special pricing on their work. At the end of each run, the show moves to our St. Johns showroom for an additional two months. If you can’t make the reception, please contact us here to set up an appointment to visit during our showroom hours. For more information about the art and featured shows contact our curator, Jeffrey Howard, at HOWARD-ART.com.
